Josh Regitz is an artist and photographer based in Berlin, Germany, with a particular focus on digital and analogue portraits. Identity as a performance is a central theme of his work. He constructs highly staged and dreamlike environments that allow marginalised people to reclaim and reimagine the facets of their identity that are most stigmatised. By working on eye-level with his subjects and prioritising their desires: who they wish to be and how they wish others to see them, Josh’s portraits act as a mechanism of subversion and empowerment.
