Down We Go by Filth_Noir From the gallery The Black Door
His lips curled in a faint smirk, he knew he had won, he could feel her soul slowly detaching. Her eyes gave her away, even though her body still showed her resistance. She had surrendered and he would take her with him on his return downwards. She breathed heavily, each draw of air signifying her farewell from this world. He was no one to leave it to chance, he had made sure that there was nothing left for her to ever come back for. A single tear found its way across her cheek, her eyes half closed to avoid his triumphant smile.
He cupped her face with his hands and smiled. “Come now. It’s a long and stony road to my realm.” His voice was stained with mocking, cold cynicism. “Don’t you worry, my sad little queen of the ashes” he said while brushing her tear away. “You will adapt to my people and our customs quickly, I am sure. And I will make sure that you are never alone again. From now on, I will always be by your side.” His tone had gotten malicious.
Finally, she met his gaze, her eyes full of cruel recognition and resentment. The world around them started to dematerialize. “So be it then.” Her voice was cold. “Lead the way already.”
He remained silent this time and took her hand. As everything turned dark, they prepared for the long fall down.
