Ein türkischer Gast im Café Pfeiffers hat mich auf dieses Bild angesprochen, das dort hängt. Er sieht darin darin eine ungeheure Symbolik zur Situation vieler Frauen in der Türkei und im Nahen und Mittleren Osten. Eingesperrt, aber der Blick nach draußen mit dem einfallenden Licht vermittelt Hoffnung.

Ich habe mich lange mit ihm unterhalten und das Gespräch veranlasst mich, das Bild hier zu posten.

Während der Proteste, die auf den Tod von Jina Mahsa Amini im September 2022 folgten, fand der Slogan Woman, Life, Freedom weitere Verbreitung.
