Glühwürmchen, heller Geist,
wie du durch die Nächte reist,
stets geputzt ist die Laterne,
denn du leuchtest flink und gerne.

Mit feinem Sinn du luminierst,
damit den Weg du nicht verlierst,
nächtens auf dem Weg nach Haus,
wo glühend kommt die Würmin raus.

Lange schon sieht sie dich blinken,
mit leuchtend' Augen tut sie winken,
bis ihr dann zusammen seid,
um zu strahlen, froh, zu zweit …
